Angela Dobbins
Angela Jane Hall Dobbins is a Christian life coach and founder of True Life Family Ministries and True Life Strategies. Born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1963, Angela came to know Jesus Christ at the age of eight. At age eleven Angela dedicated her life to God and became obedient in baptism.
She became a member of Temple Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Temple Christian School for the next six years. After graduating from High School in 1982, Angela attended college at the University of Texas at Arlington, as well as other local community colleges. She married in 1983 and, in the summer of 1990, graduated from Navarro College of Nursing to became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Shortly thereafter, she and her husband received a miracle from God with the adoption of their precious daughter, Cassandra.
Throughout her life Angela has had a strong desire to follow Christ's example and to serve and reach out to others. As a Christian teen, she was a leader in her school, a member of the American Christian Honor Society, part of a youth music ministry, AWANA Club leader, tutor and mentor to younger children, and an active church member. As an adult, she has served as a Girl Scout leader, a foster parent, a youth ministry coordinator, Christian program developer, and an adult ministry leader. In addition, her involvement with and commitment to family have been characteristic throughout her life, as she is a dedicated aunt and mother.
After moving to Anna, TX with her family in 1992, Angela served for several years as the Staff Development and Training Coordinator at Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne, Texas. There she shared her commitment to service as an LVN, Nurse Aide Training Program instructor, CPR and continuing education instructor, an advocate for residents rights and quality care, and as a coordinator of employee team support programs. It was while working at MCC that Angela discovered her gift for teaching and that God called her to Christian ministry. In 1996, after God placed a vision within her heart, she founded True Life Family Ministries. Since that time, it has been her life's passion to serve God according to that vision.
From 1999 until October 2002, supported by her husband and alongside her sister and nephew, Angela actively ministered to her community of Anna, Texas with programs like The Sunshine Club for girls, the Fishermen Club for boys, and True Life Bible Study for local nursing home residents. In addition, her ministry scope included Biblical and supportive counseling to those in need of encouragement, support and Christian guidance.
In 2004, having been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & Myofascial Pain Complex just two years earlier, Angela lost her ability to work in the capacity to which she had grown accustomed. After surviving a divorce, and while dealing with the life-changing effects of her illness, she prayerfully began seeking God's guidance concerning a future career. Soon she discovered the field of Christian life coaching and, since 2006, has been working toward building her coaching practice, True Life Strategies. She now views life coaching as a valuable ministry tool through which God can allow her the opportunity to help others and to glorify Him with her life's work.
Today Angela aspires to focus her time, aside from work, family and her relationship with God, upon writing Christian articles and teaching materials, and maintaining the TLFM website from her home in McKinney, TX. She is currently pursuing an advanced diploma in Biblical Counseling through Light University and is working toward obtaining internationally recognized IAC certification as a Christian Life Coach. Angela is a practicing member of the International Association of Coaching, as well as a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
As founder of True Life Family Ministries, Angela has sought to share the vision which God has placed in her heart with others and to use her talents to promote programs and resources which offer caring Christian guidance, practical teaching, insight, support and encouragement. God has given her a strong desire to carry Christ's message of love, grace and hope to those in need of an understanding heart, a caring word, and an uplifting hand.
“God has brought me through many storms in my personal life. He has been my anchor, steadfast and true. Through the years...no matter what circumstances I have faced...God has proven His love to me, as a faithful Friend and Heavenly Father. He has renewed my heart again and again. I want to help others know that God loves them just the same.
It is my heart-felt passion to assist others in discovering the abundant life which is promised to them through Jesus Christ. Because of Him, we can learn to walk through life without shame or fear. My prayer is that each person might find new hope, renewed meaning in life, and that he or she might discover the person God created them to be.
May God bless you abundantly, my friend, and guide you in becoming all He created you to be!"
Love In Christ,
Angela J. Dobbins
